This Week's Quote
This Week's Quick Tip
I don’t know about you, but October really flew by! It’s crazy to think that another Halloween has come and gone (hope you had a good one, by the way).
What did I do to celebrate? Well, I was helping hand out candy to trick-or-treaters, and let me tell you... there were some great costumes. Super heroes, Barbies, witch doctors (spooky).
Now don’t get me wrong, I love Halloween and dressing up in a fun costume for the holiday. But one thing I notice when it’s not Halloween?
A lot of people still hide behind a mask and pretend to be someone they’re not. Maybe it’s because they’re afraid of what other people will think of them (I’ve been there). Or maybe it’s because they don’t like certain things about themselves or don’t want to be judged.
We always emphasize trying to find the good in the world around you. But one thing I encourage you to do this week is find the good in yourself for a change.
Because the reality is, you weren’t made to be anyone but yourself. So don’t be so afraid to show the world who you really are! It’s a much better place when you do :)
This Week's Find The Good Story
This week’s find the good story is from Ella. Hope it inspires you as much as it inspires us!
“While I was in the process of deciding which college I would be attending, I started to sink into an uncontrollable hole of despair. I was terrified of leaving home and afraid of the unknown that came with making such a big decision.
During this time, I came to find God. To trust in his plan for me and focus on the things that were controllable. I found that daily scripture study and journaling were what I needed to bring me out of my funk.
Each night in my journal, I would reflect on the things I was grateful for. This helped me navigate my despair and ultimately find a more positive outlook on life. Each day I continue to look for the good instead of focusing on the negative, and I’ve noticed such a difference in my mental strength!”
