This Week's Quick Tip
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I find myself feeling a bit behind in life.
I scroll on social media and see people who are younger and more successful than me. I look around at people the same age as me and it often seems like they’ve got everything figured out.
I even look at others who are older than me, and it seems like I’ll never get to their level. Some days I feel younger than ever. But other days I feel like life’s just passing me by (I’m 23 by the way. So yes, I know I’m still young!).
But I’ll admit, one thing that helps put things into perspective is to realize that everyone (and I mean everyone) is simply on their own timeline in life. It isn’t a competition. Because we all end up in the same place at the end of the day.
So the next time you’re feeling like life’s passing you by or you’re just feeling a bit behind, I encourage you to think back on five things you’re proud of from this past year.
I think you’ll come to realize just how much progress you’ve made and how much further you’ll be (in your own time) in another year from now.
This Week's Find The Good Story
This week’s find the good story is from an anonymous member of our community. Hope it inspires you as much as it inspires us!
“I started struggling with my mental health during high school. I felt so much pressure to live up to expectations and be the best at everything. It took a huge toll on me and brought me to a very negative head space. It changed my outlook on life, and I noticed my once positive personality was no longer. I knew I had to change.
I made a shift in my mindset as to only look for the good around me. I looked for the good in me, the good in society, the good in everything. I celebrated the small things in life. Whether it was daily affirmations, a good workout, hitting a green light, or someone holding the door for me at Starbucks, I took it as a win. Because when you focus on the positives in the world around you, you begin to notice them more.”
