Welcome back to another edition of Find The Good Friday, a weekly newsletter where we share one resource, one inspiring quote, one quick tip, and one find the good story to help you find the good this upcoming week.
Our goal is to help you get through the good and the bad days, the ups and the downs, and anything else that stands between you and a smile on your face.
This week's focus: The importance of connecting with those around you.
Let’s get to it!
This Week's Resource
Whenever you’re feeling a bit down, connecting with the world around you can help lift you back up.
And no, that doesn’t just mean spending more time in nature (although that definitely does help).
It also means connecting with the people around you, too.
Whether it’s friends, family, or a stranger you just met, social connections have a ton of different benefits for your mental health.
From improving your quality of life to helping you manage your emotions, read the full article on how connecting with those around you can improve your mental health.
This Week's Quote
This Week's Quick Tip
If you’ve ever watched the YouTube channel Yes Theory, you may have heard the quote from above before.
Not only do they produce incredible videos, but the entire purpose of their content is to show that:
Life’s greatest moments and deepest connections are outside your comfort zone.
It’s wild to think, but even your best friend was a stranger at one point in time.
What I’m trying to get at is sometimes, you don’t know what a simple “hello” or smile can lead to. So the next time you see a stranger walking by on the street, consider giving them a smile or wave.
You never know... it might just lead to the start of a beautiful friendship.
This Week's Find The Good Story
This week’s find the good story is from Nicholas. Hope it inspires you as much as it inspires us!
“This coming October, I’ll be celebrating my seventh year of sobriety.
Six years ago when I got my life back on track, I got custody of my oldest son, found a woman I loved, and made her my wife. The past five years, I’ve found joy in working in the concrete industry. Working hard and loving harder, yes. I’ve found the good.
The first time I saw one of the ‘Find The Good’ brown canvas hats, I wanted one so bad. It was so simple. How could that not be a message I wouldn’t want to pass on? Not just on a hat but in everything I do.”
