Welcome back to another edition of Find The Good Friday, a weekly newsletter where we share one resource, one inspiring quote, and one quick tip to help you find the good this upcoming week.

Our goal is to help you get through the good and the bad days, the ups and the downs, and anything else that stands between you and a smile on your face.

This week's focus: Spending time with your loved ones.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

This Week's Resource 📚

The Mental Health Benefits of Spending Quality Time with Friends and Family

As much as I hate to admit it, there are times when it can be easy to take your friends or family for granted (especially when they live on the complete opposite side of the country and you don't talk with them much).

But there's more than one case to spending more time with them, one of which is the mental health benefits that come with it. Things like:

•Reduced stress
•Boosted self-esteem
•Combatted feelings of loneliness

And most importantly... a good friend or family member will always be there for you through the ups and downs of life.

This Week's Quote 🗯

No amount of money or success can take the place of time spent with family.”

This Week's Quick Tip 📝

I just got back from a trip to the east coast to visit my grandparents.

And let me tell you, it was a relaxing and much needed vacation. Beach, pool, sun, fantastic food... what more could you ask for?

But most importantly, it really made me think about the limited time you have with your loved ones. Especially your grandparents and older family members.

Because as much as I hate thinking about it, you never know when it will be the last time you see them.

The trip gave me a newfound appreciation for that fact and a different perspective to think about.

So if there’s anything you take away from this week’s newsletter, let it be to spend more time with your loved ones.

Call them. Visit them more often. Or simply enjoy their company.

It’s precious time you won’t get back.

This Week's Find The Good Story 📖

This week’s find the good story is from Sarah. Hope it inspires you as much as it inspires us!

“I’ve seen the effects of poor mental health from just about every angle.

From dating someone that struggled with mental health and having a family member struggle, to experiencing glimpses within my own life. Knowing how it feels has allowed me to better empathize with others, no matter which stage of life they’re in. Having loved those that struggle with their mental health, I quickly learned how to better love and support those that are struggling.

I constantly strive to see the good. Whether it be within people, places, or circumstances, I find purpose which allows me to better love. I want to remind others that a hard time doesn’t translate to a hard life. There’s so much joy and peace to be found when we simply seek the good in everything we do.”
